Applying for LREC approval

If you haven’t yet been approached by us to ask you to join the register and you have JIA patients on etanercept or methotrexate, we would be grateful if you would consider getting involved. The study has received Multi Research Ethics Committee approval to conduct regionally. It has also received Local Research Ethics Committee approval to conduct locally. All centres who wish to take part in the Registry also need approval from their local REC to submit data to the Registry. To join the Registry, please follow the steps below.

There is a new electronic LREC form which makes the process somewhat simpler than you may have experienced before. Please contact Joy Rahman on 0121 333 8706 if you require more information.

Step 1

LREC application via COREC online form You need to register with COREC before we can send you the electronic version of the LREC Form. You can do this via the following web link www.corec.org.uk

Step 2

Once you have registered, please contact Joy Rahman 0121 333 8706 to provide her with the email address that you have registered. She can then send you the online Form to complete. Joy will confirm by email that the form has been transferred to you. Please send your completed form onto your LREC along with your CV.

Step 3

Once you have obtained LREC approval and have registered your details with us, we will send you our data collection forms, consent forms and patient literature. You can see examples of all of these on this website. Please remember that you will also need to get Trust approval for taking part in the Registry . To start this process, contact your R and D Department for details of local procedures, sending them Parts A, B and C of the Research Ethics Committee from. We are happy to assist.

Problems with the online form If you have any problems accessing this form, again, please contact Joy and she will talk you through accessing and editing the form. If you prefer, we can send you a paper version of the form for you to complete. Alternatively, we can send you a questionnaire for you to complete and return to us—we will then enter the information you provide on the questionnaire on the LREC application on your behalf and return it to you so that you can sign, date and forward it onto your LREC along with your CV. Further information and guidelines can also be found at www.corec.org.uk
